As part of our series showcasing essential platforms for independent artists, here’s a closer look at Winamp for Creators: an all-in-one platform designed to manage, monetize, and promote your music. Distribution, copyright collection, music licensing, YouTube Content ID, Fanzone… everything is built in.
Winamp, the iconic audio player of the 2000s, has made a comeback, this time for creators. Backed by the Llama Group (also behind Bridger, Jamendo, and Hotmix), Winamp for Creators was built to give independent artists control over their careers by centralizing all the services they need in one platform.
Launched gradually between 2023 and 2024, with an official worldwide release in September 2024, the platform has continued to evolve. In 2025, it introduced the Winamp Academy, a learning center designed to help artists make the most of the platform’s features.
Winamp for Creators is a self-service platform that lets artists manage, promote, and monetize their music independently. You sign up, create your artist or label profile, choose a plan (free or paid), and then you can:
Once your tracks are eligible, you can distribute them to streaming platforms, collect royalties, monetize through YouTube Content ID, or build your own Fanzone. The free plan gives access to basic services. Paid plans unlock additional features.
Distribute your music directly to major platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music. You manage your files, visuals, credits, and metadata without going through a third-party aggregator.
Set up a Fanzone with free or paid fan subscriptions. Offer exclusive content and build a dedicated community. A great way to generate direct income on top of streaming.
The platform includes built-in tools to manage your promotion: real-time stats, link in bio, QR codes, website builder, and social media management.
One of the platform’s strongest features is Bridger, built directly into Winamp for Creators.
Global collection of performance, mechanical, and reproduction rights
CISAC partner (RME status), with agreements in place with BMI, Mint/SESAC-SUISA, Audiam, MLC
100% digital, simple, and accessible to all songwriters and composers

No entry fees, no exclusivity, no long-term commitment
The Essentiel plan is free. It gives access to distribution, copyright collection, and YouTube Content ID, with revenue shares of 80% for distribution, 88% for copyright, and 75% for YouTube. You can also add unlimited collaborators, but you won’t have access to marketing tools or advanced monetization services.
The Standard plan, at €6.99/month (or €83.88/year), increases your revenue shares to 90% for distribution and copyright, 80% for YouTube Content ID, 50% for licensing, 85% for Fanzone, and 90% for collectibles. It also includes all marketing tools (link in bio page, tip QR codes, social media manager, website builder, etc.) and unlimited collaborators.
The Ultra plan, at €12.99/month (or €155.88/year), offers the same services and revenue shares as Standard but adds priority support, with responses guaranteed within 24 hours.
Finally, the Enterprise plan is available upon request and offers custom revenue shares and full access to all services, marketing tools, VIP support, personalized training, and catalog migration.
Winamp for Creators is more than a nostalgic comeback, it’s a modern, integrated platform designed for today’s music professionals. From distribution and rights collection to fan engagement, licensing, and promotion, everything is brought together in one place with transparency and accessibility at its core.
